Blackjack Casinos
The game of blackjack or 21 is one of the most popular casino card
games for several reasons. One of the biggest is the fact that when
played properly blackjack games have a very low house advantage. While
luck is involved blackjack is also a game of skill.
Online blackjack comes in a variety of formats and rule variations
but the principals and strategies are exactly the same as you would
use when playing at any land-based casino. |

How
To Play
You start a blackjack game by placing a bet on the table. You are
then dealt two cards face up and the dealer is dealt two cards, one
face up and one face down. At this point you have several choices.
You can stand, hit, double down or split. What you do depends on your
hand.
The aim of the game is to get as close to a hand total of 21 without
going over and beat the dealers hand total. There are several outcomes
to a hand. You can win by getting blackjack or a higher total than
the dealer, you can lose by getting a lower total or busting.
Card values are as follows. All numbered cards retain their face value.
All Jacks, Queens and Kings have a value of ten and Aces can be either
one or eleven. To get a blackjack you need to get an ace and a ten
in the first two cards. Payoffs are 1 to 1 for a win and 3 to 2 for
a blackjack. Online you will find some casinos have a progressive
side bet.
There are many different rule variations, even minor changes to the
splitting and doubling rules can alter a games overall house advantage.
Online the best version with the lowest edge is Blackjack Switch which
is available at all Playtech powered casinos. The second best version
is the Vegas Downtown version from Microgaming systems. |
